Joystick problem

i'm using a logitech extreme 3d pro joystick, and every time i fly through moments of low fps, it recalibrates itself to odd settings. My plane can bank left just fine, but i can barely bank right, if at all. same thing during taxi. left turns are good, sometimes too sensitive though, but sometimes naught on right turns, and I often spend 30 minutes recalibrating to flyable joystic calibration, only to have it recalibrate itself 5 seconds later. It's really ticking me off. I've already been pushed past the line where I"m thrashing the darn thing against the floor repeatedly, at least twice, with no result. I've tried looking up joysticks on bestbuy.com, where I have two $50 dollar gift cards at my disposal. but unfortunately, there's only three available, and the only one that can be used by either hand and isn't logitech is too large for my cramped space, it seems. :(

Did you recalibrate it in Windows or just in FS?

Via fs (options>controls>calibrate joystick) <---knowing that from memory is a pretty good indication of how much trouble the stick gives me.  ;D

And calibrating from windows doesn't help either.

Try uninstalling and re-installing it in Windows (in the Control Panel) and see if that does the trick ;)

How do I go about doing that?

Okay in Control Panel select Printers and Other Hardware. Then choose Game Controllers. You'll have an option to remove. Do so. Unplug the stick from your machine. Reboot. Once back into Windows plug the stick in and follow the normal install and that should clear the problem (had this on my old stick)...

"Game Controllers" is refusing to remove it, saying that I need to use the "Device Manager". Where do i find that?

Ok, thanks. But which drop down menu do I find it under? I'm a complete newbie in this realm....

Okay open the Control Panel. Then click on Maintenance, then on the bottom right of the menu will be an option System click on it and then a pop-up window will appear. There are a series of tabs in two rows at the top of this window. Click on the one marked Hardware and it'll bring up an option for Device Manager at the top of the pop-up window ;)

You won't believe it, I got the Logitech Force 3D Pro and it starts to turn right hardly every time I want to take off...

The settings are like this:

Image

You can see, the twist is wrong calibrated!

...but we all know, you can't calibrate the joystick by hand.

I tried everything, I'm really, really cross with Logitech because it is not the first time this problem appeared! Believe me, I re- re- re- re- re- and again reinstalled the program one thousand times but the problem last on.

I'm really angry because I can't do a thing without joystick! >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

Your stick also isnt centered. You need a new stick, cus the senser in that one is fried.

@PlutonianEmpire: If your stick was properly installed you should see another menu in that page that says "Game Controlers" and have a joypad next to it. Sice it isn't there my guess is that windows is useing a defult game controler dirver, and therefore your stick isnt working. Go into your control panel with your stick pluged in. Click on Game controlers. Then highlight your stick in the window that pops up, and click properties. Then the Driver tab, and take a screenie of that.

Cheers
