what card would you choose for a core 2duo e6300 a
BFG GeForce 7950 GT OC 512MB GDDR3 PCI Express Graphics Card
or a ati x1950xt
Specs
E6300, 3 gigs 800 Ram, 8800GT oc, 400gig Sata drive, Windows XP Pro 64 Bit..

Looking at the benchmark tests the ATI seems to have the nVidia beat....and they should be about the same price

Indeed. On this playing field the ATi wins. But the nVidia will clock higher. And so on and so fourth. They are really very matched cards, so go with the cheaper one.

Hardware wise Ati is faster, but their drivers tend not to get the max out of the card
Driver wise Nvidia is having less problems (but stay away from 100.x version drivers) and will get up to 90% of the hardware specs
