ok, stupid question. well not for me, lol. i just added more memory to my system, 768mb is what's in it, but it's reading 704mb. why is that ? thank you in advance for any help.

My guess is you have a 64MB on-board video card which is utilising your RAM.. 768-64=704

i disabled my onboard graphics card when i installed my ati 9250 card.

Even still, your onboard is buffering 64MB of your system RAM, as a just in case. You can turn this down to 8MB in your BIOS.

well when i get into bios what am i looking for. sorry, i'm a newbie. please walk me through it. i have a graphics and souns card, so i don't need any onboard stuff, but really dont know what im looking for in there.

What motherboard do you have. If you don't know, google CPU-Z Download the program, fire it up, and click the motherboard tab. Its in there.
Once I know what BIOS I'm working with, I can give you a real answer.
