Is it just me or are the 7 series cards by nVidia buggy? Those artifacts and such...I've yet to read anything faulty on the 6 Series...I know my card (6800GT) isn't the best now, but still...I've hardly heard about any trouble in teh 6 Series...Forgive me if I'm wrong...I suck at hardware to know too much anyway :-[ :-[

You do know that you have to completely uninstall the old driver before you try to install the new one correct?

the 7900 is a troubled chip set, i have majour issues (to me that is) with Anisotropic filtering.
but your problem sounds more like a driver issue with windows or with your GPU

try a driver cleaner and then reinstall your updated forceware drivers.

Poppycock.

I installed mine and ran all my software perfectly and without any issues at all, overclocked it by 70% and it's just the best graphics I've ever witnessed. Not to mention that he has a 7600 and not a 7900  :P

BAH! Noobs!

I had a similar thing happen to me recently on another PC I was installing, if I remember the fix, I'll get back to you. but for now, make sure you downloaded the correct driver and not one for a laptop GF GO series or something.

True. There used to be problems with the G71 chip, however aparently they have solved many of them, and the 7900 and 7950 series cards that have been manufactured recently don't have any of them.
