I'm looking at a new laptop with a GeForce Go 7900 card on it. I've heard about "MXM" and how it is able to allow you to upgrade some graphics cards in laptops. My main question is if this laptop has this card, does that mean it does have MXM? Next is what type of MXM is it (II or III) and will I be able to upgrade it to a mobile GeForce DX10 card when it comes out??

Wow, not a single reply.... I thought someone here would know. Anyway, I've answered my own question. I've found out that the laptop I've bought DOES have MXM, so I can upgrade to a mobility dx10 card when they become available

Sorry I thought it was kind of an obvious answer, also I was kind of drunk.

Anyway yea, any laptop with a seperate card, and not something built into the motherboard can be upgraded. As a side note the cards do tend to be more expensive than regular cards.

Cheers
