Neither. They're both already on the verge of being obsolete. Wait a few months.

YF,

Don't worry, they most likely don't have the same setup as yourself (FSX sliders wise) also remember that most of us have tweaked the absolute crap out of our rigs. Therefore me getting similar frames to yourself on my rig is not out of the ordanary, however it took me about three years of pinpoint tweaking to get it there. If you were to do something similar you could crush us all.

I have a pentium 4 HT
BFG 7950OC which I overclocked further
1.5 gigs of ram
And a heavily tweaked FSX

Edit: The one seting that I can see that you have over me is a higher water setting. Other than that it all looks the same

ha ha...water is "THE" biggest FPS hungry... and with the 8800 gtx, you can have it almost anywere, ( exsept jfk in new york, still playable but crushed FPS...)

B.T.W. I used the 3 hour Ntune and here is the results.

Image

is it not possible to get it up higher??? at least the CPU? and why not the FSB up to the 1333?

whats the secret?
Thanks

@Sgt. Gabe, $800 w/ a monitor? If thats Canadian, I don't know if I can do that. $800 UDS (about 1K CD) is where I start as a minimum and work my way up from there. Even going through Dell and the like, the cheapest I could get you was $2,200. The biggest problem is that you are next gen gaming on a budget of about half of what you need.

You are 15, go get a job in a retail shop. When I was 15 I worked, and thats how I was able to continue to rebuild Sheila. Or you could ask your parents to go half. If they are willing to match what you can come up with, your dreams of having an excellent gaming rig could become a reality.

@YF:  Your problem is that you let a program do all the work for you, and it only went to where your drivers said it was safe. Most of us (well Nick Congo, and I etc) do all of our tweaking by hand at the BIOS level pushing all our parts until they just cant put any more speed out. We also have done software tweaking. Editing FSX or windows files to get the optimal out of our hardware. Removing limiters built into windows or our games so that our hardware can push as hard as it wants, and the software will keep going with it.

Drop down to "Tweaking and overclocking" for a more indepth look at why someone who has spent half of what you did, and has a better preforming rig than you.

Again looking at your speeds this truely shows. You are only getting 3.22Ghz out of that conroe? Tom's and Maximum PC both pushed it clear of the 4Ghz mark with a stock cooler. You really have to ditch all the fske driver tuning, and go in and get dirty with your CMOS.

Cheers

Wait about 6 months to a year.... by then you can get a pc at Electronics store for around 5-800 bucks WITH a monitor, and you can add certain things. Only downfall is overclocking, but I doubt you'll get into that. Have a look at my sig, this computer was $589.99 and I had an extra gig of ram and tossed in a 7300LE (Mistake) but stock it ran FS9 maxed. in a year I bet dual core setups will be the same price I payed for this, with vista etc... So just wait and buy an Acer like I did (Not preffered of course but THEY DO WORK if absolutly needed) I think in 6-12 months you could get a pc for 5-600 bucks and buy a 250 dollar mid range gpu and a decent PSU and you'd be fine. However a lot of members here would love to disagree with me...

Cheers, Gunny (Cheap never gets you anywhere.... this is my 3rd computer, still cant get a game on max)
