Help with monitor!

Postby avp_bluearmy » Fri Dec 22, 2006 3:04 pm

:o

Ok. first i want to say Happy Hollydays to everyone.

Now... im in mexico, and my dad bought this really cool pc ( it can run FS9 at a smooth 30 FPS in medium-high settings ) And it has a 19 Inch WIDESCREEN LCD monitor. But here is the problem... When i try to play a other games ( besides FS9 ) i can only see the left half of the screen, is hard to explain. Kind of like the virtual screen moved all the way to the right, only letting me see the left half, hope that cleared things up a lil bit. Well, in FS9 i fixed that by putting the resolution in 640 x 300 i think, i dont have it on top of my head, but it is the lowest one. And by puting it in there i get the full screen. But other  games dont have that low of a resolution and they are pretty hard to play with only one half avaliable. So can some one help me?

The monitor is a BTC HL1905BW 19 Inch Widescreen LCD Monitor.

Actually you have to use a 16:9 ratio for the widescreen. Cranking up the res to something like 1200x800 should help.

Cheers

Then i went into the menu and there was something under the " functions " menu that sad " auto adjust " i moved it into " NO " and it still auto adjusts, i swear, pc

Try forcing your graphics card drivers into a 1440X900 resolution, then run that in games.... works a dream for me

In the nvidia control panel go to Screen resolutions/refresh rate and add 1440X900 manually with any refresh rate (mines 75) and then select it, problem solved!

Cheers, Gunny

EDIT:

In this menu click add (provided you still use the old nvidia window like me)

Enter info and click okay, then select the resolution! Problem should be solved

What monitor is it? I think you have something messed up with the settings. A 19' Widescreen should run 1366x768 just fine. What you need to find is the native resolution and use that.

Ok, FS9 works fine now, but i got more games than that you know?

BF2 doesnt have the either the 640 x 400 resolution setting ( that one works GREAT with this monitor ) nor the 1360 x 768. And still, with this resolution i got like half an inch missing on top and bottom.

But check what happens, some times i move the resolution to 800 x 600,well, half of the screen is missing, but then i turn off and on the monitor, the screen is good, not goof, PERFECT, for like about 2 seconds. Then this stupid dialog box appears and says "auto adjusting" and it messes it up again. I already went into the menu and turned that auto adjust option to off, but it still does it. Does any one here have a grenade launcher? I want to destroy this monitor!

I think in the new Panel you have to run the optimization thing... Honestly thats why I HATE the new control panel for nvidia GPU's. I run the old one as long as I can... and widescreen monitors that are 16:10 (not 16:9) MUST BE RUN AT THEIR OPTIMAL RESOLUTION NO EXCEPTIONS PERIOD. I know, I went through this, and google helped me.... don't complain to me, do to who ever made that happen, I can run other resolutions but it looks cruddy!
