Hi Alex, if everything else is OK and your reinstalled your network card it seems to me that your have a problem with Internet Explorer, if that is what you are using. Or could it be your modem?

Do you have any problems with e-mail? Can you ping an IP address outside your network and what are the results? Can you fly online on the Simviation server?

I'm just trying to eliminate other things to see if you have problems with your browser or anything else ...

I'm not sure how to fix this but I'll look for some info on this subject and post back. If any other forum members can help please jump in!

BTW: Which browser are you using?

Is the Internet enabled on the computer in question? if so, disable it, re-enable it and then see what happens (Do this with windows XP in the control panel, network connections) Most computers have the icon in the taskbar disabled so you don't know if its on or not... I know this seems basic, buts its stumped me MANY times.

If that doesnt work, try and use the 'repair' function for the net in the network connections...

Cheers, Gunny (Anyone else wanna jump in and help)

EDIT: Do you mean the computer that has working net is slower than normal? if thats the case then maybe the router/modem is dying or needs to be reset (I hate resetting mine as its a last ditch attempt to fix)

Hi Like I said is not the modem its not the Lan switch Because I have another smaller PC (a celeron) and It work Fine ,Yes Harold I ping it ,in cmd/ipconfing /ping $$$$$$ ,also I have reset (just in case )the modem ,It seems to be something with the internet protocol, Yesterday I reinstall (over my actual instalation NOT formating) the WinxpSP2 and its the samething, still the issue ,In fact doing this post the page has close 3 times Im saving in note pad for not to writte it again, them paste it,It takes to open simv forums like 40 seconds ,..
What Im thinking are posibly two things once could be My PCI lan Card,or something is damage in the TCIP protocol ,But in the main time I can't use internet ,Im working on to find out what it is  :-[
Im using the internet explorer (the bronwser? the one who comes with winxp internet explorer ) This never has happend to me before,Man I don't want to format my HDD :'(

I asume you've removed the NIC via the Device Manager (CONTROL PANEL - SYSTEM - HARDWARE TAB - DEVICE MANAGER)?

Try opening up the case of the computer and remove and install the NIC. It might have come loose or not connected. Maybe the case was shocked or bumped. It can happen that plugin cards come loose ...

PLEASE REMOVE THE POWER CORD AND PRESS THE POWER BUTTON A FEW TIMES BEFORE DOING THIS - THERE MIGHT STILL BE AN ELECTRICAL CHARGE IN YOUR MACHINE!!!

AND GROUND YOUR SELF FIRST TO PREVENT AN ELECTRICAL DISCHARGE ON THE PC!!!

Sorry Alex, I did not posted back to you yesterday!

Hmmm, if your 10GB HDD works fine with a clean install we can pretty much rule out a hardware failure.
Could it be that you have some spyware infection or a bad ActiveX component?

Maybe you can try Ad-Aware to see if your are infected. If you don't have it already, Ad-Aware is available here.
