GeForce Antialiasing help appreciated...

I do not know alot about hardware, just that when it works its a dream but when it doesnt its a b!tch.

The only thing I know about antialiasing is that it smooths out bumpy non horizontal or vertical edges. Today I have been experimenting with different antialiasing settings, both in FS graphics options, AND my nVidia control panel, but no matter what setting I choose, my edges remain bumpy and there are no visable changes whatso ever.

Do I need to reboot everytime I change one of these settings? I am never prompted to.

My card is a GeForce FX 5200. Any help would be massivly appreciated.

Thanks

JB

Couple of things to try:
1) Are you in "Full Screen" mode when playing FS? With some cards, the AntiAliasing doesn't kick in while in windowed mode.
2) Do you have AntiAliasing enabled or disabled within FS?  If you want to use the Nvidia control panel to control it, leave the AA off within FS.
3) Within the control panel (depending on which Nvidia drivers you have), there are universal settings and then there are custom settings for specific programs.  Check to see if FS shows up the custom settings.  If so, you will need to enable the AntiAliasing within the custom settings (if you haven't done so already) as these will override the universal settings.

mistercoffee, thanks for your help, running fs in full screen mode did indeed kickin the AA, that sucks though, as I always run FS in windowed mode :(

Thanks again

AA is short for FSAA ...... ie.  Full Screen Anti Aliasing   ;)
