I am running my E6600 on stock cooling at stock speeds but my temps seem to variate a lot especially during gaming. I use speedfan to control my fanspeeds, but it doesn't seem to be working, as it always says fan RPM is 0. Are there any other programs that you guys use? Thanks

Is there software that can do that? Wouldn't that just slow down your PC? I know a lot of motherboards can control the fanspeed automatically and you can also buy some sliders (hardware) to manually adjust your fanspeeds.

Actually, I managed to figure out how to use SpeedFan properly, and no it does not slow down my PC. It keeps my Core 2 Duo temps in the high 20's and I'm happy!

The one that comes with the DQ6 is called ICOOL, and it is fairly useless. I prefer Speedfan now that I know how to use it.

Personally for the sake of headaches, I would just buy a Fan controller (with 4 or more fan selectors on it) and put it in one of the front Drive bays and hook the fans to it. Sure you wont be able to monitor temps, but you can control the fans, I run the Fan mate from a Zalman on my rear exhaust fan as Speedfan wont control it...
