Weird Clicking Noise...Urgent

Postby Hai Perso Coyone? » Sun Oct 22, 2006 6:31 am

Okay, this just started up...An odd clicking noise seems to be coming from somewhere...I think it's a rear fan because I opened up the computer and did a check...It's very annoying...is it something dangerous? It just clicks there...I am suspecting dust somewhere, but there hardly is any...The fan is brand spanking new...As in there is no dust on it... :'( :'(

My brother had this problem with his PC a while back. From what I can remember, the problem was that his older HDD on his PC (he had two HDD's on it back then) was doing something odd with the elctricity sent to it (or something like that, I can't remember it that well...) - he solved the ptoblem by removing it and replacing it with a newer one.....I'm not sure if this could be the problem you have Ashar, first off do you have more than one HDD in your PC and are any of them older models of HDD?

You should be able to narrow down where the noise is coming from by listening.

It is your SMP fan some thing like a bug the real live one or the fan may have been bent / out of shape. If you comp is really clicking on the inside you would not be able to boot.Pl check the fan and vaccume it very low mode and i mean very low.Or call a tehnicial person to do it.  :D

You can always spot a techie type person by the way they carry their Low-mode Vacuum.   ;)
