Installing an older printer on an XP-system

Hi,

I'm a bit confused. I'm trying to instal a HP deskjet 760C printer on an XP-system, by adding a printer, choosing the right type from the list and install the drivers. The computer recognises the printer, but somehow I can't print anything, even the testpage doesn't work...

Does anyone have experience with this?

Cheers,

Omag

I used the ones that came with XP! I can't find any from HP itself...

Its a serial printer isnt it? Your problem is installing the XP driver, and not the HP one. Your going to have to go on a hunt.

Are you sure about the model? HP doesn't even list a 700 series printer past the 722c. A search on the HP site lists a 760c as a Pavilion desktop PC.  ???
