Waste of money. First off your concidering an AMD processer over a Conroe, bad move. Second off your considering a DX9 setup, bad move #2, and your forgetting that NF5 580 for conroe is coming along with the G80 cores that have PhysX built in.

If your going to be dropping $3K on a rig, wait until April to buy the parts.

My two cents.

You can buy a better system for the money. A 939 socket DDR system is not a good choice for high end PCs because the 939 socket will be discontinued at the and of this year, and you won't be able to upgrade much in the future. Also it isn't the fastest.

Instead of AMD X2 get a Core 2 Duo processor (Conroe). You will ofcourse need a Conroe motherboard and DDR2 RAM. 4GB of RAM seems like overkill to me. I would get 2GB of fast RAM.

X1950 XTX is one of the fastest cards out there, but there is no Conroe motherboards that support crossfire. DirectX10 will be released next year so there is no point of spending $800 on video cards anyways, so one card is a better choice.

BFG power supplies aren't the greatest, same with Samsung hard drives. For hard drive I would choose Western Digital or Seagate. For power supplies I would look at CoolerMaster, Fortron (FSP), Hiper, and PC Power & Cooling.

@Ash: Well you guys seem to be learning, so the hand of Pwnage dosn't come down as much as it used to.
