Setting Up SATA

Postby Santaclauseee » Tue Oct 10, 2006 4:27 am

okay i did post this in another topic but it didn't get noticed.

Right having found a place that still stocked SATA hard drives i've bought one and it should arrive in the morning post, but how do i set it up? just plug and play? As i've looked into my bios and it said something about RAID or IDE... and i'm awfully confused now....
Kind Regards
Ben

Sata hard drives are pretty common place I thought? or is their a difference between ATA and SATA? should just plug the SATA connector in, then the power cord, and start up the computer! Cheers, Gunny

ahhh its all okay now, Asus default setting for SATA was RAID, which i gathered is for 2 SATA drives, which i dont have. Just NTFS formatting it as we speak, thanks Gunny for your contribution, and thanks to Cameron and everyone in the other post SATA2
