Decisions decisions... TrackIR VS XBox360?!

Hey all  ;D I just recently heard about TrackIR and checked out it's website... IT'S AMAZING! I can see that helping so much in my Flight Simming (Be it LOMAC, FS2004, F4AF, or FSX once it comes out), But, my problem is that nifty little price tag of $180.

Now, for Christmas, I was thinking of getting an XBox 360 with a couple games (Dead Rising, Over G Fighters, Gears of War, maybe one other). Which you would suggest? Going with TrackIR would be $180, plus whatever else I'd want. If I go with the 360, that would probably be all I get. So, I come to the awesome members of Simviation to help me with my problem  ;D

Just some general FS/TrackIR questions though.

Does it hit the FR's badly (Rig is 512 RAM, ATI Radeon 9550 256mb vid card, bout 2ghz (maybe 2.2) for processor)?

How much more of a better experience is it? Lots better, not much better, etc etc.

Thanks in advance  :)

Never played with a Xbox so can't comment there.

But TrackIR is sweet! Especially in Combat Sims, in FS9 it only works in VC mode but is rather cool, with the ability to use head movement to chnage you view makes it rather realistic, flying a taildragger? Just lean to the left and you can look around the nose of the aircraft, or stick your head out the window.
For combat sims it is priceless in the heat of the battle, not to mention  it frees up your hat switch to be used for other purposes. Excellent deal.

It doesn't effect frame rates that I notice but with 512 MB of ram you may have issues, so how about getting a TIR and another stick of RAM?

Xbox? Bah nothing is better to game on than a PC! ;)

It would all depend on what you would rather do.  If you play flight sims everyday, go with TrackIR, because it's like going from trying to fly with a keyboard, to flying with a joystick.  I couldn't fly without mine now.  You can also almost count on the fact that if you get TrackIR now, the price of the XBox will eventually go down and become a bit more affordable.
