One that fits on the card itself, like a heatsink/fan for a processer, only for a graphics card though! Cheers, gunny

I don't think it's worth it. That card cost $50, a good cooling fan will cost $30. You could have bought a better card to start with. 70 degrees load is pretty normal for modern cards, especially on passive cooling.

Here is a good VGA cooler, you got the choice between Aluminum and Copper. However, I would save up for a new card.

BWT you hook up this fan directly to the PSU.

I know my options, I know my prices, and I know just what I want (or I wouldnt have posted at all) the card has (it appears) a VERY Good overclocking ability for me, a new card will not come until I get a job, and thats 3-6 months away...... So I am stuck with my perfectly 'bad' choice of a graphics card.... I went from a fried non working system to a new computer with upgrading options and I KNEW when I bought it I would have to buy a cheap card to get me through..... so I am really at no loss spending another 30 dollars on a Fan for the graphics card when the system costed me about 480 and 100 on a monitor...... Cheers, Gunny

EDIT: Will this fit on my card? I have nothing but the stock fanless heatsink thing on the card!

I got no idea. It should fit. The heatsink/fan mounting pins are in the same spot for most cards.

The stock sink should be held on useing screws, or some sort of plastic stopper. Remove them, and the sink will come off. Then put the Zalman in its place, screw in the correct barbs etc (make sure to apply thermal paste) and your good to go.

Its really not hard.

Just squeeze the pins on the underside of the gfx card and the heatsink should just release.

Thats my problem, they wont release, (I am using my old 6200 as an expierement since its AGP and quite worthless) and the plastic stopper just wont cut loose, I think I tore the skin off my fingers the last time I tried Cheers, Gunny

EDIT: the 6200s came off.... Well I hate these stoppers, why couldnt they use screws? Thanks for the help!

A sharp object worked on mine when it wouldn't release.  Just push them in from the front and cut the end off.

What worries me is in Need for speed most wanted maxed out for an hour it runs 81C and starts to cut textures and go funny, hence replacing it, Plus I found out by trial and error it doesnt mind a 120Mhz overclock..... Cheers, Gunny and thanks for the help!

EDIT: oh and how come that Zalman hooks directly to the PSU? oh I was wondering also, wheres the fan power on my Card as well.... Cheers, Gunny

The Zalman dosn't hook to the PSU, it hooks to any 3 pin molex power outlet. Usually there are two or three on the mobo. The fan on the card uses more power than the card can give it. As far as the power on your card, I don't think there is a molex on the card.

Also buy the all copper one. If your overclocking the ALcu one will offer almost nothing but silent cooling.

yea I will always buy copper, I still have the Zalman I bought for the 462.... its sitting on the floor in its case, makes a nice decoration  ;D.... thanks for letting me know about the molex connectors on the mobo, I still need to buy a case fan as well for the system, this computer didnt come with an exaust fan.... (I guess you cant get everything for the price I payed) Cheers, Gunny
