Nice card, but I would have gotten a new CPU, MB, and then a PCI-E Version, But good luck with the new Card, it should do ok, and I just got through with installing my 450 watt PSU out of my old computer, without frying this one, lol Cheers, Gunny and good luck!

... and then a PCI-E Version ...
FS9 does not benefit from PCIe so I saw no point in upgrading.
And I have a realy realy fast Dell and do not want to decomision it for at least another year or so ...

Oh yes it does. AGP is 8 lanes, PCI-E is 16. You can throw a lot more information over a PCI-E bus than you can an AGP. So yes anything will benifit from a PCI-E card.

Depending on the processer already in the Dell you could have just gotten a new MiniATX PCI-E motherboard for about $60 and kept everything else. It would only make the computer faster to have a NForce chipst in there insted of the POS Dell BIOS. You would also benifit from being able to overclock your CPU.

We see advances in computer speed all the time. Why has the development of graphic cards appeared to stagnate at 256mb and 512mb?

Because games don't use more than 512, and rarely over 256.

I think games havent caught on to needed all the ram in a card, and thats why it stopped at 256/512.... Eventually games will use it, but I dont see that for at least 2 or 3 years.... Cheers, Gunny
