AMD 64 X2 4200+ processor
Forgot motherboard but it will be  good and may have some advanced options for overclocking
And thew duel processor (i think) Nividia Geforce 7800 256mb memory and 2 digital outputs
and 2 gigs ram, forgot company
and It should have wireless networking

The guy whos helping me build this also has the same specs and he boasts how with the duel screens he can play FS AND watch a DVD without a singal glitch  ;D ;D

:(

Should have come to us first, Nick, Congo, and I could have pointed you to exactly the parts you need for now, and the future.

Anyway hopefully that processer is an AM2, and if not you should have picked up a 4400+. With the price drop on the 939 processsers, it just makes sense. And if it is AM2, you should have picked up a 5000+ or better yet drop AMD entirely and go Core 2. Secondly, why a 7800? 7900GTs are everywhere, and usually for about $260. For about $40 more you could have gotten about 5 ~ 10FPS more in the sim.

And for good mesure I hope that MoBo is SLi.

Cheers

Why? Post here, its what were here for.

Lemme break it down for you. Your budget is $1500 I'm guessing, and I'm also guessing you don't need a monitor keyboard or mouse.

Case: ThermalTake Soprano Black
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6811133145

CD Drive: Samgsung 18x DVD burner
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6827151133

CPU Cooler: Zalman CNPS-9500LED
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6835118223

Hard Drive: Western Digital 250GB Caviar SATA3
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6822144417

RAM: OCZ Platnum Edition 2GB
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6820227089

Motherboard: ASUS P5N32-SLi
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6813131031

PSU: Hiper Type R
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6817128002

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo Conroe E6600
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6819115003

GPU: eVGA 7900GT KO
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6814130033

OS: Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6837102059

Total $1490

Thats more along the lines of what you should be looking at. If you want to do AMD, a comprable system will cost you about $150 more.

These are the only two parts you would need to sub out.

Motherboard: ASUS M2N32 SLi
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6813131011

CPU: AMD Athalon x64 5000+x2
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6819103757

The failure rates for the 7900 series have been much higher than usual from all manufacturers. That's the only reason I can think of for getting a 7800GT over a 7900GT.

Saying that, I've got a BFG 7900GT and it works like a charm.

And also the 7950GT will be out very shortly, if BAW0343 wishes to wait.

I know the failure rate is suppost to be high, but my eVGA 7900GT KO also has never given me any problems even as its clocked to signiture speeds. As long as you stick with eVGA, BFG Tech, and Leadtech, you should be good.

And I don't think the 7950GT would be worth the price tag. I would rathar take my chances with the 7900GT for about $100 less, and use that extra $100 to buy a better processer, bigger HDD, better motherboard etc.

Fair point, although it is slated to be launched at $299. The eVGA 7900GT KO is $289 at Newegg at the moment.

For the extra $10, you get:
a 550MHz core clock, 700MHz Memory clock, 512MB of graphics Memory, and the same single slot cooling soultion used on current 7900GTs.

Well basicly hes getting parts that will resemble his computer which cost him about $900 (not includeing Hardrive) but runs like a $1800 rig. Also i DO need a monitor as all of ours are atleast 3 to 4 years old minus my laptop (cant use that duh) and my dads monitor. Hes getting me a good deal and will run just as fast as most of yours. He knows what hes doing as hes worked for M$, hes built hundreds of computers, and no offence to your guys knowledge, but he knows alot more about this than most of you guys, im not worried. Once he gives me the list of the parts (someday  ;) :P ) i'll post evrything and after we get it going i'll take screenshots and post my FPS as well as some real pictures.  ;D
