So for quite some time my sound card has had an echo in evrything. On TS its like im listening to evryone in a large room. In FS if i pause i can still hear the echo of the engine for a second and its getting annoying. I'm betting its a simple checkbox but i cant find it  ???  I can try and record it if you want. any help?

Goto Start/Run

Type msconfig in the box, hit enter.

Go to startup tab.

In the list there will be a sound utility that installed with your sound drivers, uncheck it from that window and it should not start with windows, you'll still have sound, just not the effects overlay.

Another way is to find that program and open it, then adjust the settings within that program.

It may be called soundman if you have realtek onboard sound, but it could be any one of a number of third party programs that get snuck in with driver installs.

Get rid of it is my best advice, it won't hurt your PC's sound. Use the speaker icon in the taskbar from that point on to find and adjust sound settings.

Another way to access the windows sound settings is to go to settings/control panel/sounds and audio devices, from there you can enable the taskbar icon if you wish.

When you speak, does it come out of you're speakers?
If so that's normal, my SB live! 24bit and my brothers SB X-fi both do it.
