I'm almost too embarrassed to ask, but I know I used to have a control panel where I could alter the AA for my grafics card but I can't find it. I have this thing called nView in my windows control panel but I don't seem to have access to the controls I need. As far as I can remember I've never downloaded anything new in the way of drivers. I know it's a naff card but it's all I have.

Any help appreciated.
Cheers.
Zaphod.

Right Click on your desktop and click "properties"
Click on the "themes" tab
Click "advanced"
You should find a tab with your videocard name (Mine is GeForce 7600GT, yours would be GeForce 4 MX440)
Then go to performance and quality settings and set it there.
Hope this helps.

Mine would be nVidia 7900GTX

Burn, little graphics adapters

But yea, Sukhoi got it straight on

But maybe you can't turn on AA there, then you will have to do it in-game

Thanks for the reply Sukhoi but I still can't access the controls for AA etc. My current drivers are 4.2.3.0 which I think are the originals. I've downloaded a new driver from the nVidia site which claims to be 91.31. Not sure I understand

Those are the latest drivers for Nvidea cards. Just go to Settings, Control Panel, Add/Remove programmes, click on Nvidea drivers and remove....then will have to restart possibly, then click on the new Driver which will self install...........just did mine.

Thanks Terbert, I've now installed the new driver and after some worrying moments with refresh rates and screen resolution I'm back up and running and more importantly I have access to my AA controls and far more!
Oh my God. More things to adjust.
Thanks to all.

That MX440 isn't going to like AA and AF very much.

Congo, You think I don't know?

Actually, for my type of flying, which is mainly GA and fairly low level it's not too bad but clouds really kill me!
Trouble is my MoBo (see sig) only supports 4xAGP and my power supply is only 350w so what can a man with limited funds do?
ANY suggestions appreciated.
Cheers

Try these:

Thanks Sukhoi. That card looks good but I'm still not sure if my MoBo will support it as it only has an AGPx4 slot?

Well what that means is that you can take any AGP card, it will just slow itself down to match the slot. The problem is that your system really isn't setup properly to accept any "good" hardware. I suggest saving up about $300~500 and getting a new motherboard, power supply and GPU.

The low funds option is to get the best video card bang for buck you can for that system, 8x agp will retrofit 4x agp boards, so you can go up to the 7600 series now perhaps or at least a 6800GS or similar.
Before you leap in and buy a card, ask here first unless you know exactly what you are doing or you might rob yourself.

Thanks again guys.

Congo, just to clarify. Are we saying that any 8XAGP card will work in a 4XAGP slot only not to it's maximum? I only ask because I'm sure I have seen some cards which actually state they will run at 4xAGP / 8XAGP and some just state 8XAGP.
Cheers.

Yes, but any 8x AGP card will be limited to 4x AGP, which is fine, you simply have no other choice unless you buy a new mainboard/ram/cpu/video card.
Just post your mainboard model number or research it to be sure there are no unusual problems with it in particular.

Unusual problems? Now you've given me something else to worry about

My MoBo is in my sig.
