i just wonder you lot a few things.

i just did a full cleaning of my computer of dust and grime. I forgot to buy heat paste, so i skipped that part. how often do you clean out your computers?

also in the same light, [other than fan speed reduction] how does dust affect comptuer usage?

With my tower(s) airflow design and electronically controlled and cleaned house air system, once a year just to take the layer of micro dust off the components.

I never replace thermal paste unless I change the heatsink.

Why would you replace the thermal paste?

for experimental purposes i took out the processor about 3-4 times. the heat paste is a bit useless now that there is air trapped in it. a nice new layer will do.

im not like some who replace their paste every three months, not to mention i don't overclock (soon to change. plans for new mobo and cpu)

I full out clean my tower every three months (I get board). As for thermalpaste, every three years for the CPU / GPU, and every three months for the nBridge. Just keeps everything covered and fresh.

If you don't take off the heatsink why would you replace thermal paste? You guys are nuts.

Because when you run a clock like mine, you tend to burn your nBridge.
