I don't know what type joystick you have, but most come with software to upload.
Most of them also have a testing page and calibration page.
You might, if you haven't done this already, try recalibrating the joystick and testing it out.
If that doesn't work or you have already done this, then try unplugging the joystick, uninstall the joystick software, reboot computer, reinstall software and plug joystick back in.
IF that doesn't work, you have a buggered joystick...me thinks! ;D
Good luck with the problem.

LOL, I really hope that it isnt buggered. :(
It never came with any software, its just plug and play. Oh and sorry, its a Guillemot ThrustMaster Afterburner II. No drivers either. My god this is getting to me though. One thing that is strange, Its been registering the 2 directions nearest to 'up' and 'down' as....well up and down, so now its only the view that is 'directly' left, that isnt working.
Still really annoyed!
Cheers,
Alex

Tried it, and it only seems to confirm what the Joystick calibration software on windows is saying....
The only thing is that I got it off eBay, It was brand new. But I don't know how I'm going to go about getting it replaced. It would be so much easier for the person who bought it to send the recipt down to me than me send the stick back to him (Would cost

Its possible they may replace it.
Have you tried the products customer support, maybe send them a email.
I also noticed that their site says they are set up to use Windows default drivers, maybe try and reinstall the Windows drivers.

This is THE problem buying on Ebay - you have no comeback whatsoever. The stick sounds like it it shot, half the switches are not working.
A salutary tail for all of us

P.S. you are not the only one to get stung from Ebay. I bought a "brand new" monitor off it only to have it pack up after half-a-dozen sessions

So you're the guy that bought that joystick? I came close to buying it, but I decided I wanted with force feedback instead. Wow, I made the right choice for once.
Good Luck with getting it fixed,
Will

Well I wouldnt be so sure. The joystick is working, and I wouldnt want a FF anyway, as many designers don't spend alot of time programming the feedback, so some planes are seriously un-realistic. Even better aircraft have problems, just recently my friend complained of a problem with the POsky 744.
So yeah, I bought it, but for
