Graphic card comparison

what is the nvidia equivalent of ATI All- In- Wonder 9800Pro at 128MB and is $150  Canadian a good price.

also ,  can a AGPx8 card run on a motherboard with only AGPx4 capability

for a coincidence I also have one ATI all in wonder(I don't use it,and is a PCI :-/) but im not sure if I understand your post BUT $150 is too expensive ..I think ,...better lets wait more opinion

Normaly should ,.but read the especifications type in the box before you buy it,I have an oldie pc a p3 with a motherboard 2x and im using and nvidia ge-force 128 at 8x runs ok........

One question. Are you going to be useing the built in TV tuner? If not then don't bother with the AIW cards.

Look at a 6800XT. About $140USD so thats what about $170CD. Excellent card. Only problem is that anything thats considered "good" is AGP 8X. So yes it can be used in a 4X slot, its speed will just be cut in half.

i keep hearing about unlocking pipes.  what is that all about?

can i do that on a geforce4 max 4000

will a pci card be better than my geforce 4 max 4000

to run some of my games I need a pixel shader card.  what card has that capability.

Okay some cores are made to have say 16 pixel pipelines on them, however sometimes to be able to make a cheaper card manufactures will make a model that is the same core, but like 4 pipelines are locked so that they can take some of the price off. Now some manufactures will just lock the pipelines (such as Sapphire, Connect 3D) however most will physically laser cut the pipelines.

No. Stick to AGP

Any newer card will. The nVidia 6200 / ATi 9600 or above will work.
