Recently I had a problem with my laptop where the Windows installation was corrupted. I attempted all means of recovery, using the DOS-based recovery console, reinstalling, none of these fixed it. Long story short I am in need of a means of transferring my important files off of that hard drive onto the new one. The file structure is intact, I merely need a means to access it which my working hard drive in use. As best I can tell, the only way to do this is to make it into an external hard drive. I have seen EHD shells that you merely add your own hard drive to for Desktop-type HDDs but I was wondering if there are any shells that can take laptop type HDDs. The hard drive in question is as follows:
Hitachi Travelstar
Model: HTS548060M9AT00
5400RPM
5V 1.0A DC
60 GB
ATA/IDE
