Mouse and standby

Maybe it is me, but does anyone have the following problem.
I have an IR mouse. When the computer is put to standby, at some point the computer is back up and running all on its own. I am 100% sure that the mouse has not been touched, often it is only me at home. If however I turn the mouse upside down and then put the computer on standby, their it stays for as long as I leave it. Are IR mice more sensitive than a standard "ball" mouse, or is windows extracting the yellow liquid as usual?

IR mice are far more sensitive. Sometimes I catch my cursor migrating across the screen when i'm not even touching the mouse.

Intrestingly though when I put my machine on standby I can't get it back with the mouse at all. :P
