problems with Logitech Force Feedback stick

Postby satz » Sun Jun 18, 2006 8:02 pm

Hi all

I've been playing Fs2002 and enjoying it for years.  Recently got a 2nd hand Logitech Wingman Force joystick.

It seems to do all the 'bumps' etc fine, and I've ticked all the Force options in the game menu.

However, on some planes I use, it just stops responding to any stick movements after a while.  eg...during a gentle-ish descent the plane just doesn't do a thing.  i still feel some kickback in the stick...

Could this be a problem with the stick, or with the game?

I haven't got any other game to try the stick effects with.  However in the XP game controller setup screen it seems to respond well

Any advice?  Do all 'downloaded' planes automatically work with FF, or is this something I have to modify?

cheers

Try turning FF off in those planes and do extensive tests, if the stick works with the FF off on that plane, your stuck with that. There was a payware program for realistic FF but I cant think of it at the moment, but turning FF off in those particular planes should stop that problem! If not then it may be the stick..... Cheers Gunny

EDIT: I believe that program is for FS9 as well and not FS8!

The program is FSForce and indeed is for FS2004.
I have the same joystick but I too run FS2004 and I did not experience this issue.
What I experienced was inconsistent behaviour of the FF from a/c to a/c, and in some cases, ridiculously exaggerated reactions. All the default and some of the addon planes were OK; some addon planes just made me think that the developer did not test them against a FF stick.
Solutions: 1) get FSForce 2) lower FF a great deal in the control panel 3) disable FF altogether in FS
