Alright..... I fired up everest (Been some time) and its reading my ram is PC3200..... well I know for a fact its PC2700 but why would it read this? also I think my graphics card heat sensor is turned off, seems to read ONLY 41C constant...... Any way to fix that? I cant flash my bios on card, tried that and it just wont do the commands I give it, accepts em, but does nothing.... Cheers, Gunny

Check the motherboard/memory bus properties in Everest. It will give your the true mem bus speed. PC3200 = 400mhz, PC2700 = 333mhz.

The Overclock tab shows you the current ram timings with the ram's spd default settings shown below that.

Ram defaults to spd timings if left on Auto in the bios or if the bios has no option to change the timings.

41C constant temp for the video card is possible though unlikely, messing around with a video card bios, particularly where errors are occuring, is a recipe for disaster IMHO.

My graphics card never gets above 37c but I do have a massive artic cooler runnning at 12v on it...

its a locked up 6600..... so it should run cool, and upon checking the Bios for my card..... It works.... it has stock cooling. Yeah Knowing my ram isnt a problem because I bought and installed it... lol just wondered if Everest was massively screwed up or something, Cheers, Gunny

I always tend to believe Everest, it's reporting from the system's sensors and buses etc.

I tried it with the new Vista Beta2 64bit OS and there were blanks in the info on that op sys, but I never had a problem using it in WinXP.

It may be reading that my MB is capable of PC3200 and telling me its 333Mhz for PC2700.... I didnt find out it could do PC3200 until after I bought ram, I could still return it to newegg but I threw packaging away.... lol, The exception is, NEED an addon graphics card in my Case AGP which I bought before ram...... Would have only costed me 5 more for PC3200 too.... oh well Cheers, Gunny

You're not getting the message so I'll be blunt.

Everest is right and you are wrong. A special version of Everest wasn't built just to trick you, nor was a special chip installed onto your mainboard or ram just to fool Everest.

Trust the instruments, because your "seat of the pants" flying will get you into trouble.
