How to get Word 2000 to type UK pound sign when I click Shift+No.3 on Keyboard.

Instead I get these ##### and all the other signes are mixed up, like for this @ I have to press this " " " even while I type this topic.

I tried in CNTRL PANEL Keaboard & Regional, tried in word Options & Customise, also Repair in Word changes nothing.

Any help appreciated.      Thanks        luke

It sounds like your machine is incorrectly identifying your keyboard. I get that sometimes after using certain programs. The only thing you can do is either to re-select your keyboard or use the insert symbol option ;)

When you say CLICK do you mean you're using an on-screen keyboard? If so email/call microsoft for the answer.
If you're using a "conventional" keyboard have you tried language selection in the Word options/settings?
Also, you're not pressing Ctrl instead of shift are you...?
Rob.

I mean "conventional" keyboard, using Shift, Language US & UK (does not allow delete US one), and cannot find @Word options/settings?@ but tried all congiguration bits with no success.

This occurs in any text editor, noit only word.

Tried all possibilities in Cntrl Panel without success.

It sounds like you need to re map your keyboard. Go to control panel > Keyboard > Troubleshoot, and see if that brings you any answers.
