Zalman CNPS-7000 Is what you need. All copper, and the second best cooling on the market (only trumped by the CNPS-9500). Grab a tube of Artic Silver 5, and your good to go.

Together you will drop that 60C to the 30 it should be.

I dunno... the Ninja with a 120mm fan http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6835185001 did really well, actually trumped the 9500 in many tests... the only problem with it is that it is a monster like the Big Typhoon.. but it rates better on the AMD than the Typhoon and Zalman. I never could understand why everyone went so nuts for that huge typhoon heatsink. IMHO it was nothing but an oversized accident waiting to happen.



And Gunny... Assuming that temp is right, the CPU is WAY too hot. Mine maxes out @ 50c on a warm day and full load for hours. The CNPS-7000 or 9000 as Cameron suggested are excellent, excellent choices

under 20 is going to be tough for a good HSF.  I used this one for quite a while and it worked great: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6835106038

I would say that one is your best bet. It comes with a nice speed control you can mount on the front or back of the tower... It is capible of 6000RPM and sounds like a vacuum cleaner it is so loud but using the speed control and speedfan, set it up to max out @ 2600-3000 under high load and under idle run it @ 1200. You will never hear it @ idle and @ 2600 it barely makes any noise.

It is a SOLID copper block and VERY easy to install (10 minutes) as compared to the other HSF's mentioned.

I'm debating on the Zalman or the one Thermaltake Also, How do I figure out the size of my Exaust fan? I prolly need to replace that as well, not nearly powerful enough to pull air through the system, I think its a 90mm but not sure.... Cheers, Gunny

Which case do you have? If its an OEM case its going to be a 92MM. Most gaming cases use 80mm and many higher end cases use 120MM

If you want a challange, and have room for lots of case fans, look into heatsinks that use Peltier's Effect. Peltier's Effect is that when an electrical current is passed through a piece of two metals sandwiched together, one side gets really cold and the other gets really hot. I've seen a rig that used Peltier  junctions have an ambient temp of 150F, but component temps of only 60F.

Unless you are heavy into overclocking it does not take much more that the stock cooler to keep it cool.

If you know anyone that has a 4400 or better dual core with an upgrades HSF try and get the stock one from them.

My wife's computer has the 3200 in it with HSF from my 4400 and it works great.

so a dual core Fan/Heatsink will work? nice.... I just flipped the rear fan around, dropped temps 5C and as for the rest, its all dust! that'll drop it from 53 to 47ish for a week..... its slightly better but not a whole lot, thanks for the help! Always get it on simvi Cheers, Gunny

Going with what CT said..... Now how the hell do you get the retaining clip off the CPU to remove the heatsink? I Cannot for the life of me remove it, (I have 2 computers exact same thing but one is stock and one modded which is mine) Both have fan troubles, Going to replace the CPU fan with mine, and get a new for this one, upon testing it on that computer, I couldnt get the retaining clip out...... Any help? Cheers, Gunny

EDIT: Upon measuring the case fan, from corner to corner is just under 5 inches and from side to side 3 inches......

Ya unscrew your motherboard, and flip it over. There are two little things that you have to squeeze.

EDIT: Ok got it off..... now how the hell do I put it back on? This computer I am messing with is NOT getting a new heatsink..... the reason its out of commision is because its fans are in my computer... it restarts after 5 mins (prolly due to the fact the motherboard has a heat over ride thing) But I need to put the Heatsink back on, It fits on one side, and I cant stretch it to fit the other.... any ideas? and it had NO thermal paste on it at all, dunno if it burned off or never was applied, my computer the exact same model is probably the same....

You have burned it all off. I know OEMs are cheap, but I don't think they would go that far.
