Hi all,
Just looking at temps on this machine, it's been running for around 6 hours now with a few games and net surfing.
Are these temps looking OK? I'm pretty sure they are, but some confirmation would be nice!!

Cheers,
Jon

That motherboard temp and the HDD seems high to me but the other temp are in line... based on the 6 hour use I would say your internal tower temp is a bit high and could use some venting but otherwise it looks good.
Here's mine but I have not been running full boar for hours on end today...

I have the same harddisk as you and mine also runs slightly hot. Guess it's just a problem on Caviars?

After checking all the fans I noticed the front chassis fan wasn't running. So I fixed that

Looking better?

HDD and GPU are still too hot for my likeing, but the CPU, and NorthBridge look much better.

You guys must be able to hear your towers with those fan speeds... Mine, including the GPU and PSU, only exceed 1200 rpm if the system is under a load.

The temperatures were OK before (with the possible exception of the chipset) and even more after. The thing with "motherboard" is that we can't be sure if the sensor is monitoring the northbridge or the mosfets.
I have the same motherboard, but I have replaced the northbridge fan with a passive zalman cooler.
My temperatures are:
CPU: about 32-33 with AMD Cool&Quiet ON; about 40 if C&Q is OFF
Northbridge: about 26-27
mosfets: around 35
GPU: between 47 and 50 (and yes, I will replace the crappy heatsink+fan with a zalman vf700 and I expect that to drop to less than 40)
Hard disk: about 39-40
The Zalman is performing superbly.

PS: This is also with the computer on for 21 hours since last restart......!
That dosn't matter. That CPU temp is way too hot, and your damageing your CPU by running it that hot. Most likely your thermal paste is gone, and needs to be reapplied. Also a Zalman CNPS-7000 can't hurt. Only about $30 at newegg.

Hurting it? Nah 2 years and it hasnt blown up........ Though it has been seeming to get slower and slower but not terribly, I am planning on getting a New cooling system for it....... But if I pull the heatsink off the chip might crack lol, cheers, Gunny
