Just because there is a driver update it might not work correctly with your video card. Some of the updates are meant for the newer cards and will not work right with the older models. You can do 2 things,
1). contact nvida to see if the update is for your specific card
if so what is the problem with it and why does it not work for your card.
2). roll back your drivers for your video card.
I would suggest option 2. I see this a lot people find out there is a updated driver for there card and download with out checking to see if it is the correct one for there specific card.
The best way to handle this is to set a restore point before you install the new driver that way if it does not work all you have to do is to restore to that point . This is the best way to deal with any software that you want to install that you are not 100% sure if it is right for you esp. when it comes to any driver.
