Emmanuel my friend, you just hit my hot butten here, and if I cus and rant for the next post its all your fault.

1st off. What do you have personally against Intel? AMD cant tutch their Media and multi tasking abilities, and they will always hold the overclock highground (680 Prescott on Liquid nitrogen at 8.13Ghz stable).

2nd off. Again had you been doing any reading or even glancing at benchmark scores on Intel's new Conroe Core (A.K.A Core 2) you would know that AMD is soon to be knocked out of the gamers systems. Its just a better core all around, and a "high end" Conroe spanked the hell out of a overclocked FX-60. A "high end" conroe, not even the EE. Now AMD claims that the "Super high end" gameing industry is going to see a huge launch thats going to reclaim its title, however AM2 and K8L couldn't do that, so I doubt that unless they are going to be comeing out with a new core, we are going to see Intel reign for quite a while.

Now on to other aspects.

Motherboards: Intel Boards have better RAM clearances than AMD ones do. Now that usually dosn't mean much, however for someone like myself with a Zalman CNPS-9500 we tend to need the room. Also Intel's socket T (LGA775) is so much easier to work with than AMD's 939 or even AM2. Thus Intel wins my vote again.

Mobile: I don't think that there is one Mobile AMD processer that can beat out its Intel rival. GFX renders, Media encodeing, multi tasking, heat, battery useage. You name it, intel takes the benchmark. Intel was also the first in the industry to have a Dual Core notebook processer. And at that one that didn't flop at its launch. May I also add Centrino's other aspects such as WiFi, PCI-E, and lower voltage than a Sempron.

Yes you see Emmanual you just don't know enough about the wonderful world of hardware to be bashing one manufacture over another. I know that this thred wasn't about what I just ranted about, however you seem to be very byased twards AMD for really no good reason other than you have one. Oh ya, and BTW the 950 Prestler beat out the 4400+ in just about every benchmark except Farcry, Quake, and Doom. The numbers don't lie, they just don't lie. http://www.semsons.com/hogmslcoflgp.html

Cheers

sorry...I told the forum that i was not going to act with my OLD attitude i'm positive and i don't have to get all hyp. ok i don't have anything against intel. and this doesn't have to do anything with AMD. I also have a intel porcessor on my old computer and i'm not against intel.i only want to know if people like intel. Well as you said," that just because i have a AMD processor i have to be against intel" i'm NOT >>NOT >>NOT against intel. I like the company and i was just asking if people like it or not. a simple question. I hope all of ya understand. thank you.

Funny I didn't see anything in your post stating you hated Intel or were bashing them in any way??? Shouldn't have deleted it so other could see how CT was over reacting to a innocent post/poll.

It is just that some read a little too deep into a topic ;)
To keep yourself safe never post a Nvidia/Ati topic LMAO!!

Well the poll was titled "Do you hate Intel?" As an Intel fanboy, yes ofcourse I'm going to protect my company.

But ya seriously, post a nVidia vs ATi or AMD vs Intel topic, and I will flame the hell out of it.

hmm intell and AMD are only companies, I can't see how anyone can like or hate them.  As far as I can see they have never tried dirty tricks like sony and micrsoft to lose my confidence in there product.  I have intell chips and AMD chips at home and cyrix, I just buy whatever the best value for money chips is in the performance bracket I want.

As for the conroe benchmarks, non have been done on actual retail chips yet so I would take them with a grain of salt.

As for overclocking, extreme overclocks with current pentiums requires extreme cooling so is out of the reach of most of us so quite irelevant (although cool).

everyone should chill out and just buy whats best  ;D

Forget all the benchmarks. All they really end up showing you, is how one piece of hardware can end up beating the other, in a few, extreme, pretty much non-real-world applicable, sets of tests.

Here's what counts:

Pick a computing task; game or otherwise (especially gaming); and you can accomplish it with less money spent, using an AMD processor. Intel's durability is less important, as the chip is obsolete before it wears out.

And Fozz.. ?

I agree with you Cameron! However, one thing I hate about AMD fanboys, is as good as AMDs processors are (very good, I want one), in most cases, Intel will make something very fast very quickly since Intel is about 10 times the size of AMD.

Is thier fast speed at getting something out due to thier size? or just getting mediocre items to the masses, while AMD takes longer but produces better products?

Proven fact a smaller company will always produce better products, at most times at a better price due to the savings of having fewer employees, lower costs etc...

Too me a company that gets stuff on market quickly does so becasue they can't get it right in the first place ;)

Im no "fanboy" of any company I will buy what is proven and fits my needs, I also don't care to wait awhile for a better built product.

But back to the orgin of the topic, it was titled "Do you like INTEL" not what CT quoted it as, which proves he saw the word INTEL didn't read what the topic/poll was about and went off on a typical fanboy rant.

While Emmanuel having the original post deleted allowed CT to save face ;) it should not have been removed to prove that Emmanuel was not trying to start a Intel-AMD flame war.

To me it sounds like ctjoyce should take a step back and look at the first post from emmanuuel and the one from himself, he says emmanuels "however you seem to be very byased twards AMD for really no good reason other than you have one" but in my opinion hes biased towards intel because he has one. At the minute AMDs better (so can we please stop talking about what WILL happen) when intel releases their conroe cores then people can say intels better.

P.s. the numbers just don't lie ;)http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/cpu/di ... ames2.html

(old but accurate)
(no intention to start a flame war but you really shouldn't start ranting over what somebody MIGHT'VE said)

Good reading, shows am2 fx62 overclocked to just under 3.1ghz

Re: WHAT ABOUT INTEL?

Now you have started it.

The question my friend is what area are we looking at? Intel processers always have been the better buy for media. Encodeing, and decodeing they are faster. Computing tasks they win. PC mark, 3DMark's CPU test they win, so how can you say AMD's are better. If you say gameing I say which one. A San Deago, Toledo, or Clawhammer I will agree. If you say Manchester or Venice I will disagree.

Each processer has its ups and downs. For the general market Intel is the correct choice. For the gamer AMD all the way, and for the power user its an even match in the Dual core world.

And one last thing to leave you with http://www.tomshardware.com/2006/05/10/ ... ghz_cores/

Lets see a 3800+ x2 beat, or even match that. Its just not going to happen sorry.

Cheers
