Notebook?

Postby Alphajet_Enthusiast » Sun May 21, 2006 12:15 pm

I got my desktop a while ago, but now I need a notebook as well because of school and soon University.

I was thinking of getting an Alienware Area-51 m5700 Notebook, does anybody have this and have any views on this laptop? Looks pretty good.

Otherwise I'll just go back down to www.tones.be and get a notebook custom-made. They made my desktop, five months ago, and produced some absolutely brilliant work.:)

If you alrady have someone that has done some great work for you stick with them ;)

I have read a lot about Alienware at first they were good but most now is just overpriced.

I just bought a laptop from Cyberpower and am starting to think i made a mistake going for a cheaper price, they grabbed my money on the 11th and still nothing from them about when it will ship. They don't answer emails and if they do they are as badly written as the customer support speaks on the phone (forgive me but Im American and we speak English here).

It was after I purchased and they got my money that I found reviews left by customers all over the web, and NONE of them are good ;)

So I would go with the ones you already dealt with, may cost more but you'll be better off.

Had you read the fine print you would know it takes them 10 days to build, then 5 to ship. They probibly didnt even look at the order until the 12th anyway. If you still don't have it by the 27th then start to ask questions.

However take a look at Voodoo PC. They are in Canada, so shipping is a bit steaper, but the product is well worth it.

I read the fine print always do ;)

My point is they won't answer anything after taking payment.
Before I paid for it they were more than happy to talk with me, and assured me that it would be ready to ship by the 15th.
I can understand the build time, but when im told that it would ship by the 15th and then no answer as to the status of it (thier website order status page doens't change) that is when I start to get pissed.

So as it stands they have $1700 of my money and I have no clue as to the status of my order.

Check out Resellers and other review sites and it is plain to see that this is not uncommon, just wish I would have did this before falling prey to a good price ;)
