Postby BAW0343 » Sun May 21, 2006 11:37 pm

Well i am planning early for FSX, and i WILL have this sim and a computer to match  ;D  Well heres my question: I know DELL took over Ailenware (i was planning to buy something from them) and i was wondering, What compares to the power of ailenware? i know its still 8 months away (at LEAST) and things change, but i am just planning ahead.

Well Ibuypower or Cyberpowerinc are better than alienware.

HOWEVER. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD WOULD YOU PEOPLE JUST BUILD YOURSELF!!!!! Seriously its not hard, its cheaper, and there is a much stronger sense of ownership when you creat the computer, insted of just getting a box.

Cheers

unless the need for a new pc is desperate or your a very very bad with technical things build your own.  Don't buy alienware there takey and crap, if you must go down the custom gaming machine made by company route voodoo pc are much better: http://www.voodoopc.com/omen.aspx

when buying a gaming pc the most important thing is the grapics card, aim for at least a 6800gt.  As for memory 2gb is about the most games can use at the moment and memory is cheap so get that much.

You should definetly build your own, even if you have no knoledge. I'm currently learning whilst building. As ctjoyce said anyway, it really isn't hard, and much cheaper. If you want to learn then there are two videos from ctjoyce which show you exactly how to build your own.

Video 1 = http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QkSLC_Np2CE

Video 2 = http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EO8oeeTYlGs

And there's a very nifty site I use if I'm stuck or just want to learn from which is...

OK joking about the last one but the rest are respected knowledgable users IMO, and have helped me no end.
And good luck with your new build, because you will!
