Depending on which it is, it might not be possible with a laptop - some of the ones I use have an either or function (for plugging projectors into). How many monitor outputs do you have?

Plug it in, open up your display properties, tell your GPU that you want to split the desktop insted of mirror it.

If you have ATi you may need hydrovision.

Hydravision is so weird to me.  I just have the settings know that I want the desktop across both screens.  For FS, I usually only use one monitor and turn off the other, leave it windowed and do stuff like work or surfing or talking on the other, but if I use both for FS I just drag over all the accessory panels into the other monitor

What do you mean? If you mean have gauges running on the second monitor, you right click on the panel or box, and unlock that window. Then drag it to the second monitor. If you mean you want to stretch your cockpit over multiple monitors, your better off looking in the Homebuilt section.

Than your in the wrong forum ;) Check in the Homebuilt Cockpit forum, they will be able to tell you better than us hardware techies ;)

I think you use a registered copy of FSUIPC though.

Fightingfalcon,

CT's correct that if you serach around a bit in the pages of the "Homebuilt Cockpits" forum here on SimV you will find a number of threads and links for multi-monitor reference.

There are a number of options depending on what you want to accomplish.  Each has it's plusses and minuses.  Takes some planning.

Tow screens is relatively easy (except for potential framerate issues).  Three or more gets a bit complicated.

best,
