PCI-E vs AGP

Hello, I'm looking for smooth frame rates at max settings in fs 2004. I currently use a Gigabyte 6800 GT AGP interface on a Gigabyte 7NNXP motherboard with 1.5 GBs of RAM. Frame rates are good until i'm looking at lot of cumulus clouds or flying into a detailed city like New York.

How much improvement, percentagewise, could I expect using a single, or double PCI-E setup (i realize it requires a different motherboard) with the 7800GT?

If you replace your 6800GT with a 7800GT SLI setup, expect a considerable increase in performance, but, expect an equally considerable outlay to buy the Motherboard, Card(S) and anything else you find you need.

You'll probably get a far better return for your time & money by speaking to ramsa329, a member on this forum, about getting your system optimised.

Well PCI-E is going to give you much better results than AGP thats for sure, but I agree with 4 series, UNLESS you have the cash to do a SLi setup. If this is the case, respond, and Congo and I can help you find a good motherboard and cards.

Cheers

I'm sure I would'nt find one thats too bad either....
;) ;D

Only kidding guys, your hardware knowledge surpasses mine I think.

Am I right in thinking he should speak with Mathias and get his system optimised (fsgs?)

I'll PM him and ask him to drop into the thread.  :)
