I think I'm back in the fraternity for a bit again, not so much for pleasure now as training - I've done a real world solo now with Air Cadets, and I've been requested / reccomended for further training. The mount in question is the Grob 109 Vigilant motor glider, and the airfield is Swansea EGFH.  ;D

Only problem is now that I know the type so well I crave higher than usual realism, expecially for the practice I need. I'm flying the stock Swansea (which has a disused runway in use) and VFR Photo Scenery, which is Ok. The aircraft is by Pavel Toman, Barry Blaisdell and
Bob May of Premier Aircraft Design, and whilst it is a very nice aircraft it is subtly different from what I'm used to, the VC looks different and it climbs at 80kts instead of 55kts.

I did have the knowledge to tweak, but a nice 2D panel and better scenery would be nice! Freeware as ever!

Another question! Has anyone ever succeeded in getting Saitek R220 pedals working in FS? I'm having huge problems with mine, they work but aren't proportional, so I'm back to a twist stick. Meh.  ;)

Re: the R220- I recall a similar question a while back.

Hiya Dave... A little more detail on that one, I used it mainly in NFS and the fix on that support page allows you to change the axes to work seperatly for things like FS. Since I installed that fix its been non-proportional in everything, even the XP Game Controllers.

There is a driver released in the Saitek forum for the R220 which should help, but when it prompts me to plug in my controller it doesnt recognise it and won't continues.

Any ideas?

Hi Dan,

Good to see you again.

You can mess about in the aircraft.cfg file to get the climb rates and speeds correct, you just have to be aware that changing one parameter often affects the others.

Typically I find that the propeller efficiency, (prop scalar? ) and thrust scalar work as do the drag and lift settings if you need to fine tune the glide angle, a lot of sim planes just glide too darn well.

I'll try to download the plane if it's a freeware and try it, then see if I can mod the dynamics to produce a more realistic ride for you. But have a go yourself in the aircraft.cfg in case I get sidetracked.
