I am just starting to explore this potential idea I had.

i've never personally known for ATI cards to support tilting monitors.

now im currently at school, so im no help until i get home. but i do run dual monitors, and i do some tests. thing may be is i have an X1300, so the latest catalyst drivers may support it for me, but not you. but like i said, when i get home (2 1/2 hours) i'll give it a try.

I may be absolutely wrong in this assumption however I do not believe your card support 2 monitors completely independent of each other. It may drive 2 monitors and allow different content to be delivered to them based on setting up the system for dual use and dragging the desired screens to each monitor but I do not think you can rotate one and not the other... I could be all wet about that. I believe it requires a TRUE multi-monitor card such a Matrox with the splitter adapter to do what you want to do.

done..

yes you can.

go into catalyst, into display's manager.

the x1300 comes with a VGA and a DVI output (and an S-Video) but that doesen't really matter. it's the software that counts here.

but remember, i have a different card, different operating system, at the latest catalyst. so your options may differ.

still check it, cause i got my monitor to do some pretty funky things... ;)

:)Ramos - flipped.

It will interesting to see if the 9600pro will have the same ability.

It would make him happy!

Each monitor is completly independent. Resolution and what ever else you want to do can be done individually on each monitor.

My work computers run 2 graphics cards and 4 monitors and they are all independent.

My 9600XT can do it.  It depends on the drivers not on the hardware.  My old Radeon 7000 could not rotate, but when i updated the drivers it could.

Thanks guys.  I too went into the Control Center on THIS machine and checked out the possibility....looks good.  Have to take a few minutes (maybe late tonight) and see if the other machine works with the idea.  I have the same ATI drivers / Control Center on both...so it should work.

best,
