Logitech G15 Review + Pics

Recently I went on a venture to CompUSA (yes I know I know, however they have BAWLS and therefore the trip is worth it). Anyway as you may all know I talked about getting a new mouse, Logitech MX518 to be exact, and how I saw this at the store when I went to go buy my mouse. Well after getting my hands on one at the store I just had to have it. Well I just had a birthday, and my sister's gift to me was $100 to compUSA (shes comeing along nicely isnt she?) so that afternoon we went rite over for a G-15 and a case of BAWLS.
First Impressions:
Well the box itself will just make you want to buy it without even thinking twice. I swear in the store not one person who walked past it didnt pick it up and look. Its one hell of an eye magnet.
The box:

Once I got it home I couldn't wate to get it installed, however windows didnt want me to get anywhere that night, so a quick (2hr) reinstall of windows gave me the time to snap this pic.

Now right now it may just look like another usb keyboard with a few extra buttens and two USB ports, but just give me a second to let me enlighten you. "How does it feel?" you ask. Well the whole thing feels like rubbing velvet. Its very soft, however the keystrokes are very crisp and quitet. This is by far the most comfortable keyboard I have ever used. I like the keystrokes much better than the Saitek Eclipse, and over all its on a whole level above the Z-Board.

There you go. Software isnt installed yet, so you dont get to see the LCD in action quite yet, however this pic was taken in a normaly lit room, with the light on. As you can see its bright. But hows about some night time glow? Here she is:

Now thats in a completely dark room, with the light on bright. As you can see its not at all blinding, infact it has quite a nice blue glow, that you miss when useing other keyboards.
The LCD:
This thing is absolutely crazy. Strate out of the box, and its already got my G-Mail counter, and System info ready to display for my viewing pleasure.

Want to know what your listening to? We can show ya.

Need to find out your temps? With the help of speedfan weve got ya covered.

Now that you know your temps, want to know what your load is?

This is only one of the thousands of supported games. Some only tell you how much ammo you have, and others (like BF2) tell you what your ping is, your server rank, stuff you would actually want to know. Right now I'm working on makeing a HDD for FS. Airspeed, Altitude, Navs, Coms basic but needed stuff like that.

Customization:
With 18 "g" keys in three modes you have over 54 different buttons to program with whatever you want. And that excludes the custom game profiles.

As you can see this is the gamers dream board.
Overall:
Overall I would have to give this board a 9.5 The LCD is AMAZING, the gameing abilities are awesome, and the backlight / USB ports bring the whole thing together. The only thing I dont like is all the software you need to have running in the background to support it. Fortunately the only game thats ever really slowed is FS, however that was in the PMDG 747, and CS C130. Also while it comes with a whole bunch of games, and software compatability (I forgot to mention that the latest of FRAPS works with this) there is still a bunch left out. BF2, WoW, EQ2, COD2, Every Steam Game, CoH/V. Though there are patches for that, its a bit annoying to go find them and get them installed.
Hope you enjoyed.
Cheers
