Postby gilesh » Tue Apr 11, 2006 9:22 pm

Hi
I have recently been experiencing a small issue with my graphics card. (Nvidea geforce 440 64Mb of DDR gram)
A few days back when I went to start FS and error popped up saying something about the graphics card does not have enough memory and that it will use software acceleration. It asked me to click yes or no if I wanted to see this message every time software acceleration is enabled, I clicked yes. When I start fs now I don

You can check out the display settings then go to the hardware tab and make sure hardware acceleration is checked.
Just click on the options menu at the top then select display. 8)

In software mode the graphics have no filters, the texture are pixellated and very, Very, VERY not nice to watch. If your FS had at least the bilinear filtering activated, you're in hardware acceleration mode.

Was I in your shoes though, I would upgrade graphic card. Even the lowest, cheapest Fx5200 with 128Mb is worlds better than the graphic card you say you have. ;)

I would think that is the situation on that card anyway unfortunately, filtering would nearly stop it in FS9.

This is what is enabled in the DirectX fuctions for display.

DirectDraw Acceleration: Enabled
Direct3D Acceleration: Enabled
AGP Texture Acceleration: Enabled

Should all these items be enabled?
Thanks
