Personal opinion yes.

I have a 5200 in my other pc and had it for a couple years, although not the best card by todays standards you can achive great image quaility in FS9 with some tweaking of your settings, and frame rates to boot.

With all unnecssary programs and applications shut down, I could easily maintain high frames even with most settings maxed.

I had one and it was such a dog I gave it away immediately, it was a complete waste of money, I guess it was a different brand to your's

Don't know much about an AGP card...but my PCI version was the biggest waist of $100 i think ive ever spent ::)  Still using it and you can see my computers specs in my sig.  FS2002 runs decent with about mid level settings with a few up higher.  Its not the greatest settup but with Posky aircraft i can get about 15+ FPS in spot view ;)

Well I was considering the fact that we don't know what type system it will go in.
Mine went into a Dell that couldn't handle anything more powerful.

So a 5200 may be all that will work for his needs and based on the lack of info, yes it is a good card dependant on what he has to work with machine wise and money wise.
True it is no gamers dream card, but I had everything from MoH to Serious Sam and Farcry and my flight sims running smooth with it with exceptional quility and frame rates.

Don't know if they are still here but if you scan the archives for screenshots posted by me all were done with the 5200 and on most you will see the frame rate display showing 30-60 FPS ;)

I have heard many complain about the 5200, but maybe i was lucky and happened to get mine to run great for the machine it was in, or maybe  I was the only one that took time to set it up too  :P ;D
