My friend recently purchased a whole bunch of computer parts seperately, which were gaurenteed to be 100% compatible, and after building the computer with him, it will turn on, but nothing will be displayed on the monitor.  We are sure that everything is connected, and that we are not missing any parts.  Here are some of the parts.

AMD 3800+
160GB Hard Drive
EVGA nForce 4 motherboard
EVGA nvidia 7800 GT
2 GB ocz gold xtreme gamer edition RAM

Is there something that needs to be done when you start up the system?  Everything is connected (including the monitor), but nothing shows up on screen.  We even put in the windows xp cd and nothing happened.  Thre is one thing I noticed though.  On the motherboard when you take off the case and look in while it is running, there is a little light that says FF.  Dunno, help would be appreciated for my m8

Motherboard not posting? You need a new motherboard. And this time try to get something worth while. Like a Gigabyte, DFI, or ASUS board.

When you turn on the PC do you get any sort of sound comeing out of a speaker? Should sound like a beep. But if you start up and your disk drive just spins that means your mobo isn't posting and you need to get a new one.

dunno its my friend whos building it.  He did say something about the motherboard, as some of the prongs on it were bent during shipping.( not money, doesn't look severe) If it still doesn't work after all of this, then he will get them to send him a new one (he has shipping insurance luckily

What do you mean prongs? If the CPU pins are bent then good luck trying to get it to work. Also have him unpug everything (SATA IDE and Floppy) and boot that way. If it dosn't boot even then you need a new motherboard.

It could also be the fact that his RAM are in the wrong slots. 1-3 or 2-4 are the ones your suppost to use. a final thought could be that the BIOS dosn't like 64Bit chips in it, and needs a flash
