3DMark

I downloaded the 06 version, and my FPS never went above 10.  I didn't expect great performance in the first place, as I have a somewhat midrange PC nowadays, but what the hey?  In an effort to make myself feel better, I got the 05 version as well.

Athlon 64 3000+
BFG GeForce 6800OC (not OCed)
MSI K8V Neo
2x Corsair 512MB PC3200
2x Hitachi SATA 250GB (for a 500GB Striped RAID)

I'm not looking at buying anything as a fix, but rather, just tweaks and settings.  If it's not in the NVidia or ATI control panel, I don't know about it.  This is where I could use a bit o help. ;)

Overclock it my friend. By the way that score is about 2000 3DMarks (05 version) below what it should be. Your processer is causing a huge bottol neck.

True.  But everyone has different settings.  I get so dissapointed with autogen, I usually just turn it off.  Just for an example. ;)

At least 3DMark is a "standard". ::)

And that is why I refer to GPUs as their 3DMark not to their FPS.

Well Its probably not his CPU, my 6600GT on a 3200 with a little tweaking did that easily. I do wonder though, do you have anything running in the background. And if your serious about tweaking that go to http://mvktech.net and those folks will show you what tweaking is. Have seen a 6800Le score close to 6000 3d marks in 05 with there help, so check them out. It does have its risks, because there tweaks involve GPU bios, and adjusting timings on ram

Oh my child how young you are. All of those things I have done. I orrigionally bought a X800 256MB card. Realising my mistake I ventured into overclocking. Not getting the results I wanted, I then flashed the GPU to a X800XL. The best switch ever made by me. I also have unlocked my CPU multiplyer, so extreem overclocking is easier than ever. www.kustompcs.co.uk Not only do they know what their doing with their hardware, but they make it look as good as it runs.
