If I were you I would look more at

Processer: Intel 640 Prescott http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6819116197

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-8I945P-G
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6813128294

RAM: Corsair XMS PC3200
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6820145449

Harddrive: Western Digital 160GB SATA3
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6822144415

GPU: eVGA 7800GT PCI-Ex16
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6814130249

DVD Drive: Samsung DVD-RW
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6827151095

I have used all these parts in different systems, and love the preformance of all of them. That setup will run you about $1200, but is worth every penny. Your gonna be able to run FS maxed out with about 30~50FPS depending on the area, and souldn't need to upgrade for FSX (according to M$) You also will have a 64Bit processer, so vista will be well withen what your system will be able to do.

A few bits you left out were the case, and PSU. Also cooling is a big issue with PrescHOTTs so heres what I recomend.

Case: ThermalTake Soprano (there is also a virsion without a PSU for $75 insted of $96)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6811133156

Heatsink: Zalman CNPS-9500 ($60 yes, but will cool your processer to a level of watercooling)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6835118223

PSU: Hiper Type R. (You will never have to replace this PSU. It is one of the highest ranked PSUs on the market, and for what it puts out it had better be.)

I think the most important question, everyone here seems to forget to ask, in wanting to tell people to spend as much as possible. Is, what will its primary use be? theres little point going top level if your only going to use it for work related useage and very little gaming.

Thank you very much. I am on lower budget however and am looking for something around $700.00

The cost for this system right now is $571.89

If I were you, Ide save up a bit more till you have $1000 to play with. That way you can buy the higher end parts that will give you the preformance you want and need.

In general, true. Just recently a few people (including myself) have had these fail. Most likely just a bad batch, but just so you know. But Cameron is correct in general, fantastic PSU.

Yeh mate, it's rather annoying. I bought it from Overclockers and at least 5 people on their forums have had exactly the same problem. I know it's a good PSU, as I said, I reckon they've just got a bad batch in.

As you say, great warranty service so I'll be getting a new one shortly.

If you want to read the OCUK forum thread on this problem, it's here.

the 6600le is a turd go for the 6600GT if you can it will get you closer to twice the FPS.

Go for branded but cheap ram (such as crucial) as latancey dosen't matter much on pentium 4 systems at the moment.

Check that the motherboard dosen't have the ATI usb perforance bug.

Try more like 5 ~ 15 FPS, not dubble.

Ya except not. Latancey is latancey. If you get slow RAM you get slow preformance. Its as simple as that. As for branded but cheap, remember you get what you pay for. So you can go with a value RAM, but your much better off spending the extra $20 for the good stuff.

Two completely incorrect statements, I'm afraid mate.  ;)

The 6800LE, when "unlocked" will actually out-perform a 6600GT. - Not for nothing did I happily swap my 6800GT back to a 6800LE. ;)

Low latency RAM is certainly beneficial on P4 (and most other) systems.

Is your memory having a fight? or do you mean "Dual" ?
