Efficient & Quiet cooling.

Well, it's come round again, the monthly computer fair at Tolworth, near to where i live! ;D
This months purchase is going to be a new heatsink and fan replacement for my cool but noisy stock Intel HS & fan for socket 478 P4 Prescott.
Anyone got any suggestions? My Mainboard is an MSI 7037, which is incompatible with Zalman 120mm 7xxx (recommended by a friend) coolers so they're out of the question.
Brands seen at the fair previously:
Zalman, Asetek "vapochill", Swiftech, and a couple of others that i can't remember  ???
Bear in mind, silence, or as good as, is what i'm after.... my CPU rarely gets stressed.
Cheers in advance,
Rob.

A Zalman CNPS-7000Cu. 92mm will cool it much better than the stock cooler, and is probibly the quietest cooler I have have ever used. If the CPU dosn't ever got too stressed like you said, your not gonna need a 7700 from zalman, your definately not going to need vapchill, and the two others are much louder than the Zalman.

Cheers

I think he's refering to the vapochill AIR cpu coolers:

Good comparison between zalaman and the vapochill coolers (although it's athlon 64 both companies make simlar coolers for intell and proportionaly simlar results can be expected).

As I have never used high end aircooling as I have never had the need I canno't offer any opions on these products.

Although I have seen thermalright in action with a vantec tornado and was amazed at how much voltage could be pumped into the chip with barley any change in heatsink temp so that might be a brand worth considering.

My 550 Prescott is running under a Zalman CNPS-9500 @235x17 (3.99Ghz) as far as wattage goes Its running 1.5482V, and cannot go any higher as the Chipset cannot keep up with the 4Ghz+ that I want ( i need a better cooler for it).

As for the CNPS-7000Cu I pushed that puppy to 3.83Ghz before it went over the stock temps (38C idle) So ide say for the price you cant do better than it.

Cheers
Cameron

Cheers for the help lads, i'll see whats on offer at the fair on Sunday.
@Cameron: you're right, i don't need any of these coolers- my current one works fine...it's the silence i'm after...
@kipman: yea that's what i saw last time. The vendor said they were a pain to fit, and after reading the link you posted, it looks like he was right.
I'll probably end up buying a graphics card instead..... ;)
