i have my computer at school to fix a few things. one of the diagnostics i do is use my computer thermometer and measure certain parts of my computer that im concerned.

i finally found out what my south bridge was (itwas covered by a heat sink) and ast the reader in there. the temp read 59.8

sounds slightly toasty.

try reaseating the cooler first it may not be attached properly or have a thermal pad, use a good quality thermal paste like artic silver.

Read my post about my computer freezing. This was caused by overheating as the the heatsink fins behind the fan were jammed with dust.
