wd 40

Oh god, don't go that far. ::)

There is a screw at the bottom of the throttle unit. Use a screw driver and turn it counter-clockwise to losen it up.

good, keep it up, just remember the quote:

"you only need 2 things in life, duct tape and WD-40. if something moves and it shouldn't, use Duct-tape, if it doesen't move and it should, use WD-40." :P

That's true, but I don't think it's wise using that on a somewhat-expensive piece of hardware like the X45. ::)

DONT PUT WD-40 ON IT!!!!!  :o  lol  that will just make it greasy   just use that screw and modiy it till u got it right   took me like 15 minutes to get it perfect. However the joystick (flight control not throttle part) will start sticking eventually  that you can use a little oil or wd-40 on   but be careful with that part so you dont get it in the joystick  that could possibly be bad   i dont really know for shure tho  lol   ;D

For those who really don't know about WD40.....

WD = Water Displacer.....

When it is used, it promotes the evacuation of water by absorbtion and evaporation with the active ingredient in it, and leaves a very thin film of oil behind.....

When I tried to lube my X-45, all I did was mess it up and make it more grabby.....I dried it out after using the WD40 solution, and tried to ensure there was no oil film left in the end.....it was the oil which made mine worse.....keep it dry, is all I can say...... ???

To keep that joystick limber, lean it all the way to one side and look. There's a cup under the spring: it rides on a plastic ring (with the rubber boot inside, see it?).
 Where those two plastic parts meet is where all the friction is on this thing (nothing but a ball joint inside there, and it's already been greased in the factory).
Put the WD-40 down; it's not a long-lasting lubricant. It will also dry out the plastic, making it stiffer in the long run.
 Get some grease- white lithium, axle grease, lard, Vaseline, whatever- and smear a little bit all the way around there.
Try it now... ahhh, better...  :)

oh believe me, that was a joke. i tried lubing my Sidewinder precision 2, and it was worse than when before, i had to go into it and clean out all the parts.

yeah WD-40 no good idea, but good quote to live by.

Sprays are definitely a bad idea; anything runny is bad. But there's a seal on the X45 stick; a little bit of thick grease won't get inside. I also wipe off the excess when I lube mine.
