AGP 4X/8X

Hi guys,

Here's what I'm thinking. My motherboard supports AGP, in fact I'm using it at the moment (GeForce FX5500). It's an Asus P4VP-MX and I think it supports 4X AGP, but I'm not sure.

So

1) What would an 8X AGP card do if I put it in?
2) What graphics card would you recommend?

Cheers,

the 6800GT is in AGP also the X850 series just came out in AGP so ithor way it dosnt really matter, just look for 16 or more pixel pipelines.

AGP versions are pretty backward compatible. Especially 8x to 4x there is hardly any difference in terms of performance, just a marketing ploy.
