When I upgrade to 64 bit if I just do a lateral swap of my current AGP 6600 GT to the PCI-E variety of that same 6600 will the performance from  the GPU be about the same between the 2 version or will the PCI-E version be noticeably more powerful???

The PCI-E May be a little better, I believe the 6600 is PCI-E Native (through my searches I have ran into a type of 6600 that was both AGP and PCI-E dunno if its even remotely possible to be both) So probably perform a bit better, if you look good enough you can get a PCI-E 6800 for the retail price of a 6600 or less even, So search long and hard and you can get even better in the long run! Cheers, Gunny

Edit: I am a budget hunter so I can guess with CPU/Mobo and Graphics retail would cost you around 6-800 dollars, Search ebay and newegg etc and you could prolly get the Mobo and CPU combo for 200-300 and a good graphics card for roughly 150-200 saving a Bit I'd say  ;D.... Thats how I've managed my latest comp upgrades! Cheers, Hopefully this helps a bit! Gunny

BTW... I just upgraded my system also... I kept the memory, CPU, and case, but ended up picking up a new mobo, vid card, and power supply... I like the new results very much!!
