That will be a great monitor Jimbo. I always package deal Samsungs with my systems and I ain't never had a complaint yet - quite the reverse actually.

One guy spec'd a Sony for a video editing package and I told him to do himself a favour, take a Samsung instead and save some money as well. He's now thinking about ordering a second one for a dual monitor setup.

They are GOOD monitors and that's a great spec for gaming.

Cheers Guys

Ordered it yesterday, and it came this morning. Got it all set-up, and what can i say, excellent!

Really makes a change from my CRT, and with 19", its great for gaming.

- Cheers.

Now i need some help..

I play some of my games such as Flight Sim, and first person shooters, and it is very slow for some reason...?

On the lowest resolution its STILL slow, and on the top its just too slow.
- Is this another sign my graphics card is crap!?...i thought it made no difference if i changed from a 17" CRT to a 19" Flat monitor?(Mine is DVI)

So any suggestions for me, or do i still need to buy that new graphics card!>

What resolution are running at, if it is the native resolution then i suspect your GFX card is struggling to keep up.

The maximum resolution of my monitor is 1280 by 1024, which im running it at, because anything below doesn't look very good.

Any suggestions?....

I ran my old monitor (CRT 17") at similar settings and there was no performance decrease at all?>
I just wondered why its different on this monitor. I thought the change from CRT to TFT was fine...?
Is it just that my graphics card cannot handle this screen?

Hope it doesn't do this when i get my new 6600GT....

- Cheers again.

What do you mean by "slow" You could be seeing a flash in the screen or a shadow of the last frame(ghosting). If its just a flash in the screen raise the refresh rate to 70 or 72Hz, this is the speed at wich the monitor refreshes itself, set it to low and you will see flashing. You should not need to go over 72Hz and anything more is not recognizeable to the human eye and will just stress the video card.

If you see ghosting well there is not much you can do about it. Monitors have a refresh time or the time it takes for a pixel to change color, crts have been the king of low refresh times and LCDs have had higher times because the way each are made. In recent times this has changed and there is little reason to buy a crt anymore.

But not I see that monitor has 4ms refresh, this is fast I belive the lowest out there is 2 ms but 4ms you should not see any ghosting unless you are moving around at godlike speed.
So I think its probably your refresh rate and you only see it in instances where the frames are dramticaly changing fast.

No its just constantly slow, like when you try to run a FX5200 in a latest game..that kind of slow.

You can kind of the tell the graphics card is just struggling too much.

There is no flashing, or "Ghosting",

Its just terribly slow, i think it could be my current graphics card?

Could be so its stuttering like your getting 5 fps? Try it at a lower resolution like 800x 600 and 60Hz to start if its fine then it is most likely your video card. :P
